Rumor – Adidas offers iPhone 12 and Samsung S21 mobile phones, among other free benefits, for those who enter a website and share a link on WhatsApp.
And here we go with another story of “company that offers smartphones” for those who enter a website with a “.cn” domain and share its link with friends on WhatsApp. The latest story of the genre points to an alleged promotion by Adidas.
The message “Adidas offers free benefits Adidas offers free gifts to the whole world” started circulating on WhatsApp along with a website address. Upon entering the site, the user is faced with a list of questions, a set of boxes and the request for you to share the link with friends on WhatsApp. Read the message contained on the website:
Part 1 – Presentation: Adidas. Today, April 5, 2021, We have decided to offer some benefits. You only need to answer a few surveys to receive our prizes. Each Monday we randomly choose 100 users to give them a chance to win incredible prizes. Today’s prize is an iPhone 12! There will be 100 lucky winners. Our goal is continuous improvement and we highly value your feedback. Your participation will be rewarded 100%.

Needless to say, that ad (even without having the slightest logic) populated in various profiles and groups on WhatsApp. However, it is not true that Adidas is offering iPhone (or Samsung S21) phones.
In reality, the ad in question is a new version of a type of fake news that has been recurring in the last few days: that of the false promotion that asks for sharing on WhatsApp (we even deal with that in this special text).
After receiving this type of fake, we kill the riddle of what is the goal of these scammers in particular. In the case of these “promotions” that are being served on Chinese domain sites, standard questions (including repeated translation errors), request for sharing and “registration” (we have examples using the name of Amazon , Renner , Skol and others companies), the objective is to profit from registration on a trading investment platform (in other words, stock exchange casino).
We don’t know that the profits are limited to the registration itself (most likely, the scammers are profiting from referral payment programs) or if the site in question is fake and can also steal data. Regardless, our advice is that you do not enter these sites, do not share the link with friends and do not register at all.
In short: the story that shows that Adidas is giving iPhone or Samsung Galaxy S21 phones to anyone who enters a website, answers questions and shares a link is false. It is just another scam of the kind that circulates on the internet.
